Owners Approve Budget and Candidates

Thank you to all who submitted ballots for our annual meeting.  Congratulations on our incumbent directors on being reelected for another two-year term: Jenni Aleckson, Lee Erchull, Debbie Snyder, and Jeff Henrichs. The proposed budget passed by a wide margin, allowing the board to hire a management company to assist with the operations of the association.

From the Village of Sugar Grove

Here is important information from the Village of Sugar Grove taken directly from an email that you may have received if you subscribe to the village’s electronic newsletter:

Metronet has established a website for interested residents and businesses in Sugar Grove to take the next step toward bringing Metronet fiber-based internet, tv, and phone services to the community. Metronet refers to potential service areas as MetroZone’s.    You may receive an email from MetroNet, this email is legitimate.

If you are interested in having Metronet service, you can go to, select “Sugar Grove”, and pre-signup for service. Anticipated pricing information can be seen by selecting the “Pricing” tab and entering 60542. Please note that pre-signup’s include a $20 deposit fee that will be credited on the first months bill, or refunded if Metronet does not offer service, but will be lost if Metronet offers service and you ultimately choose not to receive it.

The Village of Sugar Grove encourages new companies to provide service; however, we do not encourage, nor discourage residents or businesses to choose one company over another.   Additionally, the Village does not take a position on whether or not you should pre-signup for service.


Board signs on with MC Property Management

The board has hired MC Property Management Company to help the board manage association business.  MC Property management was founded in 1996 and serves associations from 8 to 500 properties in size.  More information will be forthcoming as we transition from a self-managed to professionally managed community.

Care of Vacant Lots

There have been instances of illegal dumping on vacant properties and the common grounds recently.  The community is asked to be proactive in helping keep our neighborhood clean and attractive.  One incident involved the dumping of tree branches on one of the vacant lots.  Empty lots are private property.  Unauthorized use and/or dumping not only spoils the neighborhood, but is illegal.  Please report any abuses immediately so the association can contact the proper authorities and owners when such violations occur. 

This is also true of our common grounds, especially where people fish.  There have been several instances of garbage being left in the area, making for an unsafe and ugly site.  Please clean up after yourself when using our common grounds and report problems immediately.

ARMC Committee Needs Members

Our Architectural Review and Modification committee (ARMC) is looking for members interested in reviewing project plans submitted for review.   The ARMC serves a vital role by providing a second set of eyes for the board to ensure projects are within the parameters of our documents and makes recommendations to the board.  Please consider serving on this very important committee.  If you are interested, please contact Craig Gaska at

Communication Committee Chair Needed

As was announced in our last E-Blast, our Communication committee is in need of a new chair.  The communication committee is responsible for the distribution of the E-Blast, our Welcome Wagon, and the BWTOA website.  The chair serves as a very important coordinator and facilitator for these services.  Please contact Craig Gaska at if you are willing to fill this very important role.

Architectural Modifications Approval Guidelines
According to our BWTOA Covenants, all exterior remodeling (decks, additions, modifications, roofing, etc.) and hardscape (patios, exterior structures, etc.) projects must be submitted to the Architectural Review & Modifications Committee for review and approval. DC TRASH 2017 Holiday Schedule
Memorial Day – Monday, May 29th.  All routes will be delayed one day.
Independence Day – Tuesday, July 4th.  Tuesday-Friday routes will be delayed one day.
Labor Day – Monday, September 4th.  All routes will be delayed one day.
Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 23th.  Thursday and Friday routes will be delayed one day.
Christmas – Monday, December 25th.  All routes will be delayed one day.
New Year’s Day – Monday, January 1st.  All routes will be delayed one day.
