There are several areas within the Black Walnut Trails Subdivision that are not under the jurisdiction of the Black Walnut Trails Homeowners Association.
- The Park on Black Walnut Drive is owned and maintained by the Sugar Grove Parks District, as is the path that runs through the forest behind the park. The forest area itself is under the control of the Kane County Forest Preserve District. To ensure proper maintenance of the grass, we currently split the cost of fertilizing and weed control of the Park with Sugar Grove, and are currently exploring possibilities to improve the pathways. The current head of Parks is Mr. John Clayton, who may be reached at 630-466-7436.
- The parkway and trees along Denny road are the responsibility of the Sugar Grove Department of Streets and Properties, as are all trees in residential parkways. Mr. Geoff Payton is in charge of these areas and may be reached at 630-466-7508.
- The forested areas at the rear of lots along Black Walnut Court, Wild Ginger Road, the south side of Edgewood and Edgewood Court are protected by the Kane County Forest Preserve District and have their own set of easements. For a summary of the easements, click here.
